Every brand has a beginning.
This is mine.
Courtship Marin started with a simple idea — and just two skirts.
Friends of mine were searching for tennis clothes they could actually live in. Pieces that felt fun, comfortable, and polished enough to wear on and off the court. They wanted something that moved with them, but still felt intentional and styled.
I couldn’t find exactly what they were describing — so I decided to make it!
I began designing and sewing my first skirts, bringing together classic silhouettes with a modern point of view. What started as a small experiment quickly turned into something real. I sold my first pieces at small pop-ups across the Bay Area, and with every conversation and every sale, it became clear: Courtship had the potential to be more than just a side project.
That early momentum shaped what Courtship is today.
As the brand grew, so did my commitment to how — and where — we make our clothing. Courtship evolved into a sustainable apparel line rooted in thoughtful design and responsible production. Today, we prioritize recycled and organic fabrics, limit production runs to reduce waste, and use only the amount of fabric required for each design.
Equally important is keeping our production close to home.
Our factory is based in San Francisco, which allows me to be hands-on throughout the process — from visiting the floor and reviewing samples to building relationships with the people who bring each piece to life. We also collaborate with local artists to create the original imagery printed on our fabrics.
Courtship Marin is built on intention: classic inspiration, modern performance, and a belief that what you wear should feel good — on your body and in your values.
This is just the beginning.
